We’re transforming our grocery store into a vibrant hub of local art and community pride! Introducing our “Be a Part of the Art” mural project, a collaboration between Bethlehem Co-op Market and muralist Matt Halm. Inspired by the murals featured in many food co-ops along the West Coast and the bustling art scene in the Lehigh Valley, we created our “Be a Part of the Art” initiative. Together, we’ll bring to life a stunning mural that celebrates local food culture, Lehigh Valley growers and producers, cooperative values, and the diverse individuals who make up our community, featured as the focal point of our grocery store.

Led by artist Matt Halm, the mural will serve as a visual ode to our commitment to supporting local and fostering community connections. Matt’s vibrant art — to be developed in cooperation with co-op member-owners and project funders — will depict the rich tapestry of our region’s food scene and the cooperative spirit that defines the Bethlehem Co-op Market. The mural, a stunning 70-foot-long display, will be visible to everyone who enters our store.

We need your help to bring this mural to life.

Your support is crucial in making this vision a reality. Contributing to our crowdfunding campaign will directly fund the mural’s creation and support future local art initiatives at our co-op. In addition, your contribution allows us to facilitate a participatory approach to creating our mural in partnership with Matt Halm. We invite our community to participate in the project, from brainstorming the mural concept to picking up a paintbrush and painting it! Plus, we’re offering exclusive donor incentives featuring Matt’s incredible artwork for our campaign contributors.

Your contribution supports local art and our co-op’s mission but leaves a lasting legacy in our community. Together, let’s cultivate a space that celebrates our shared values and the beauty of local food culture. Join us in bringing our mural to life!
